Beach Hygiene 101

Beach Hygiene 101

Maintaining proper hygiene after a day at the beach is crucial.  It is important to remove salt, sand, bacteria, and other irritants that can harm your skin and overall health.  Here’s a guide to caring for your intimate skin after a beach day.

1.    Rinse Off Immediately

Use a beach shower or bring bottled water to rinse away saltwater and sand before heading home.  Don’t ignore the folds – sand loves to hide in our creases.  Rinse your bikini area with warm water.  To ensure all of the sand is removed, use the Beauty Below unscented Intimate Wipes.

2.     Take a Full Shower

As soon as possible, take a full shower.  Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser, such as V-Wash.

3.     Pat Dry

Gently pat dry with a clean, dry towel.  Do not rub.  Please remember, yeast loves to grow in warm, moist places.

4.     Apply an Intimate Moisturizer

Saltwater and sun dry out the skin.  Those you remove the intimate hair, even if it’s just the bikini line, are at greater risk for dryness and micro tears, which can lead to infections.  The Beauty Below Love Lips and V-Bright Moisturizers are up for this task.

5.     Change Out of Wet Clothes

Do not sit in wet swimsuits.  Moist, tight fabric can lead to bacterial or yeast infections.  Pack a dry change of underwear and lightweight clothing to wear home.

6.     Consider Go by Beauty Below
